Trainnie “Baby” Marie Montoya had 82 years worth of stories and our memories are filled with nothing but light and warmth from our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and wife. Baby was called home to our Lord on Friday, June 15, 2018. She was met in heaven by her mother, brother, sister, and daughter Edna (Fito). Baby was a strong, outspoken, deeply loving woman who did anything for her family. She is survived by her husband, Daniel Montoya, whom with she shared 67 years of her life, their 7 children, Danny (Rosa), David, Estela (Marty), Elva (Henry), Rick (Brenda), Eddie (Carol), Gilbert (Debra), her sister Beverly James, 18 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and her dog, Shila.
Baby was the epitome of what a mother and grandmother ought to be. She guided her kids through life and passed on her wisdom which she received from her beloved mother, Jessie. Her door was always open to anyone who wanted a conversation, a bite to eat, an ear to listen, a hand to hold, or even a bed to sleep. Baby was unapologetically herself, letting you know what was on her mind - good or bad, but she listened to you and your stories and was there for you with anything you needed, especially during the hard times where her reassuring words of “what goes around, comes around” would send you on your way.
Though this loss is tremendous, we will always find comfort in cloudy days knowing she’s safe at home. Thank you, Grandma, for raising us all. We love you forever.
