Scott Correll, 53, passed away on February 15, 2022. Scott was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. He attended Andress High School. While Scott lived for a time in various other states including Arizona, Colorado and California, he eventually returned home to Texas. He was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan.
Scott also loved to read, a trait shared with his siblings and influenced by his schoolteacher parents. He especially enjoyed novels by Louis L’Amour and Tom Clancy. He dreamed of someday owning a small bookstore and always wanted to share his love of reading. He enjoyed various types of music but was primarily a country music fan.
Scott is preceded in death by his parents, Eva Lou and Raymond Correll, his godparents, Lee and Doris Broome, his sister, Lori Correll, and godbrothers, Michael and Richard Broome.
He is survived by his sister Terese Lahann and husband Jeff, his godsister, Gina Caraway and husband Joe and her children, Shane Williams and Shilo Duckworth; his nephew Travis Lahann and wife Jenna and their son Evan, his nephew Austin Lahann and fiancée Rachel Luckie, and his niece Karsyn Lahann.
According to Scott’s express wishes, no public service will be held. Donations may be made in his memory to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library at https://donate.imaginationlibrary.com/.
"A Memorial Celebration of Life Luncheon to honor Lori and Scott Correll will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, 12 – 2 pm, at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Alamogordo, NM.
