For our aunt Sara-Although you are not here, your spirit, wisdom and light live forever in our hearts! Miss you so much !

Only recently did I hear of Miss Dow’s passing. For years, I wanted to write to her to say thank you —-thank you for being there for me at one of the lowest points in my life. Sadly,  I was afraid she wouldn’t remember me and I never followed through. Decades ago,  I was one of her office assistants at Austin High School.  I loved her perkiness and caring nature. During my Senior year, my mother died  & I went into a deep depression . One afternoon, I made a phone call to Miss Dow—- she knew why I was reaching out. She immediately dropped what she was doing and drove to my house to pick me up. She saved my life that day and I am forever grateful. 
Miss Dow, thank you…. may God bless you and grant your soul eternal peace.

Sara was my guiding-light counselor at Austin High in my junior and senior years, 1974-75.  She instilled confidence in my dreamy future pursuits, and those aspirations came to be! Thank you, Sara, for believing in me, for your kindness, good humor, sense of teenage angst and for the smiles we shared that I'll forever relish.

I first remember Sara at now defunct Bassett Middle School where she taught my brother math.  Later she was a counselor at Austin when my wife went there and the two times I taught there.  Many years later she was a wonderful counselor at Loretto who helped my daughter tremendously.  She truly weaved in and out of the lives of my family over the course of many years.

Rest In Peace Sarah.

Ms. Dow was my counselor when I was at Austin high school. She was an excellent listener and encouraged me to keep pushing forward. She made me feel special. She will be missed. 
May the angels and saints enjoy her beautiful company.

Dear family, 
I am so sad for your loss.   I worked with Sara at Austin HS for many years and even to this day when I run into students from those years, her name always comes up.  She loved her students and worked so hard for them as their counselor. 
I wasn't able to attend the Mass because I developed shingles Monday night. She was a special lady.  Love to you all.

Miss Dow was a truly beautiful person. She was kind and supportive, a wonderful teacher and counselor.  I have never forgotten her.  She helped me so much in middle school and as my counselor at Austin High School.  She walked in the love of Christ and cared deeply for her students.  Rest in peace Miss Dow.

May Sara rest easy in Jesus' loving arms. She was a beautiful person who was an amazing listener. Her smile was quick and the twinkle in her eye was pure magic. She is  loved and will be missed beyond telling.

We are so sorry to hear about the loss of our Dear Aunt Sara . I always felt she was like an Aunt to me and my brothers as she was always a dear friend to my mother .She was so much fun to be around and she will forever be missed.
