Rosa “Rosie” Maria Diaz, 65, died Tuesday, June 8 in El Paso, Texas at home surrounded by family. Rosie was born on November, 29th 1955 in El Paso, Texas. Rosie spent her life caring for others. She was a true example of having a servant’s heart and a daily reminder of Christ’s love. She was humble and kind. Professionally, Rosie helped countless students develop life skills. Personally, Rosie’s life revolved around family.Rosie cared for her parents throughout their life. When her siblings began to have families of their own, Rosie was often the one they would call for advice, or reassurance, that they were doing things right.The children she helped raise affectionately called her “Mama Rosa”. She loved to bake, sing, talking on the phone for hours, and was looking forward to more travel adventures. However, nothing in this world superseded the love she had for her daughter Elisa. Rosie is preceded in death by her parents Antonio and Beatriz Diaz and her sibling Elisa. She is survived by her daughter Elisa (Lucas) and her siblings Rafael, Antonio (Sylvia), Esther, Irma Cuellar (Pete), and Bea Saavedra (Emilio), nieces, nephews and grandson. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 6 p.m., Monday, June 14th.The memorial service and burial will follow on Tuesday, June 15th, 10:30 a.m. All services will be at Evergreen Cemetery East, 3839 Montana Ave. El Paso, TX 79903.
