Ronn (Ronnie) Wong passed August 28, 2013; he left us too soon. Loving husband to Rose and devoted father to Ronnie and Ryan, Ronn lived a life enriched by the love of family and a multitude of friends. He will be profoundly missed.
Ronn loved his family and was active in his sons educational and sports activities. He proudly watched them grow into young men of good character who excelled at football. Ronn’s influence and direction provided the foundation that will continue to guide and support his sons in his absence.
Watching his sons play football made him extremely proud and was an important part of his life and livelihood. Nothing made him prouder than his sons whom he lovingly referred to as his ‘Bubbas’. He loved UTEP football and the Seattle Seahawks, but his true passion was watching his sons’ play football.
Anyone who met Ronn loved him immediately and felt like a life-long friend. Known for his .tailgating prowess, Ronn provided the most excellent experiences in preparation for UTEP football games. This tradition will be continued and Ronn will be there in spirit.
Ronn was a generous man whose generosity was heightened in death as an organ donor. His premature death has enabled others to continue their life journeys.
Ronn will be remembered for all the special foods he made for his family and friends, i.e., shrimp dip, pork chop sliders, chocolate chip Belgian waffles, scones, and Christmas breads.
Ronn graduated from Cathedral High School and attended UTEP. He is preceded in death by his parents Ying Yu and Magdalena Wong. Survived by his wife Rose Salas Wong, sons Ronnie and Ryan, sister Sandi Wong McKellips (Mike) and brother Arnie Wong (Laura).
