Robert (Bob) passed away peacefully on April 23, 2024, surrounded by his family. Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents Gordon and Alma, his sister Donnie, and brothers John and Bill.
Bob leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years Mary Elizabeth Mullen-McIntosh (Liz), his loving sister Kay, his seven children
Amy Noyes (Alan), Andrea Ewalt (John), Alane Malinowski (Tim), Ann Lauterbach (Steve), Allison McIntosh, Adelle Gardea (Luis) and Bo McIntosh (Rachel). He is survived by his grandchildren Madison, Bruce, Drew, Danielle, Zach, Cory, Tim, Kyle, Kate, Phillip, Halle, Ashley, Sean, Megan, Maya, Jordan, Jaden, Logan, Jiana, Joshlyn, and great-grandchildren Ayden, Abbey, Penny, Paloma, Lina, Brynn, Leoncio, Ellie, Luke, Sebastian, Josue, Liam, Caleesie and Quinn.
Bob was born in 1934 to parents Gordon and Alma Kane-McIntosh in Youngstown Ohio and had four siblings, Bill, Donnie, Kay, and John. Upon graduating from Ursuline Academy, Bob attended Kent State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for six years from 1959 to 1964 and then took a position with General Electric as a finance director. During his twenty-two years there, he received the prestigious Gerald L. Phillippe award, the highest public service award within General Electric in recognition of his countless hours volunteering for Big Brothers of America and his role as a volunteer juvenile probation officer in the greater Cleveland Ohio area. He was also a volunteer in the Catholic diocese, focusing on marriage encounter programs and men’s renewals, particularly while he and his family resided in Memphis Tennessee and Olive Branch Mississippi. Bob went on to work as a plant manager at Hoover Corporation in Juarez Mexico before retiring.
Bob, a life-long athlete, was a swimmer, tennis player, runner, and fisherman. In his spare time, Bob loved sailing, gardening, and the great outdoors. He was a classic car enthusiast and loved the process of restoring vintage cars. Bob had a quick wit and great sense of humor. He was a mentor, and a loving husband and father. He shall forever be cherished and missed by his family and friends.
A Funeral Mass for Robert will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1551 Belvidere St, El Paso, TX 79912. Following the Funeral Mass will be a Private Graveside Service at 11:30 AM at Anthony Community Cemetery, Acosta Rd., Anthony, New Mexico 88021.
