Richard Coleman Wilson, Sr., Command Sergeant Major, United States Army (Ret) deployed from this earth station May 23, 2014. The Sergeant Major was born in Fairmont, West Virginia on September 19, 1928 and he never forgot the mountains whence he came. During his 27 years 11 months of duty, Sergeant Major served on the ground in three wars: WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He earned and was awarded The Legion of Merit, two Bronze Stars, The Meritorious Service Medal, four Air Medals, four Commendation Medals and various service awards and nine Good Conduct Medals. Sergeant was active in Master Mason Fraternity #111 for over fifty years and was a 50 year member of A&A Scottish Rite of Free Masonry. The Sergeant Major's new duty station reunites him with his beloved wife Maxyne; mother, Benitha; his father James, Sr.; brothers, Earl, James, Jr. and his step-son Paul Richard. The Sergeant Major lovingly leaves behind his daughters, Barbara, Karen, Judith, Elaine (Willie), Eileen (Mike); son, Richard, Jr. (Gina); step-daughter, Valerie; step-son, Steven; 12 Grandchildren; 5 Great-Grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Martin Central. Rite of Committal will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
