To my Tia Yolanda, my cousins and all the Guerrero family,

My deepest condolences to all of you. Richard was truly a special cousin to the Diaz family. as well as all of you. I remember as a kid going to your house for all the wonderful parties. He will be missed dearly. Forever on our minds and in. our hearts. May God give you all the strength to get through this difficult time. With all my love!

Rich.....My Love
Such a joy to be your "little sister" as you used to always refer me as. I love dancing because of you. I love country dancing because of you. My friends loved hanging around with you. When you moved to Arizona...boy, I  enjoyed visiting you. Tubing down the Saguaro River, sand volleyball at the pubs, driving all over Tempe, Scottsdale and Phoenix. When Emily died, you got in your little Red Isuzu Rodeo and came to see me. All my birthday phone calls were you singing Happy Birthday to me in  Marilyn Monroe voice. We danced so much at The OP. 
Rich...I will miss you....
I ugly cry for you. 
I've got to find a way to save your last phone message to me...it's hilarious. 
Look for me when I get there. I'll be the one asking, "Do they have Panda Express and Coke Zero up here?" Because of you Chris loves Panda.

R ich Guerrero 

Rich made you feel like you were the only person who was important in the room. His attention was completely focused on your conversation. He knew little details about your life that the two of you talked about years ago. 
His talent to make people feel special in his presence while spending time together, taking their pictures and just by answering the phone with his witty comebacks. “Chicos Tacos!”
We spent our high school years discovering our interests in music, literature and photography. We never revealed our mutual secrets until much later after high school but we already knew. We knew who loved and accepted us and we forgave those who weren’t ready quite yet. We humored them with the game of “I’m going to love you anyway!”
There will never be another Richard Guerrero and I hope he is now with Alan laughing and loving. 
The last time we talked was the best time we spent together. We FaceTimed our friend, Grace Pichardo Rios and giggled like we had the secret to life’s joy! 
Thank you for sharing Rich with us. I know my life is better because of our friendship- I’ll call him my brother forever.

Dear Rich, my heart aches tremendously.  Not only will I miss your laughter and your funny stories, but I will miss you and the fun times we had.  Thank you for always making me laugh.  I thought we would have many more tomorrow’s to share but God had better plans, a plan in which I was totally not prepared for.   Heaven has gained one awesome ANGEL.  I LOVE YOU RICH!!❤️❤️❤️

Rich, I miss you my dear friend. I thank you for the wonderful memories. My heart will always smile when I think of how you made me laugh out loud each time you answered the phone. Somehow your number was always a different restaurant and you were always ready to take a food order. You rushed me along when I was speechless. 

Your creativity is your legacy. Your photography was incredible. Your drawings were breathtakingly beautiful. My heart is saddened by this sudden emptiness. Realistically, my heart knows it was not sudden, you suffered for many years. I lit an endless number  of Mexican candles and recited many prayers for your well-being. I will forever hear you laugh as you warned  of how unsafe unattended candles  are. I will forever picture myself scrambling ungracefully down the slope to get back inside to turn off the candles. 

I miss you Rich, I know you are now united with those you loved in the past. We last spoke at the end of August. I am sorry we didn’t speak again. I thought we had more time.

I am struggling to express how sad I am to learn of Rich’s passing.   What a talented, fun, and affable human being.
I was fortunate to cross paths with Rich in 2010 when I was in college.  I was in need of a graphic designer to help me with my school projects.  In no time we became good friends and spent many hours at Carlos n Mickeys or at his desk discussing everything from photography, to past relationships, and opera.  My fondest memory of Rich was the time when we removed the top from my jeep and went on a drive to Scenic Drive before being caught in a torrential downpour.  Our only option was to park under the carport of what appeared to be a vacant home (I’m laughing as I type this and in my mind I can hear his roaring laugh as well). 
Rich taught me how to be more confident and he taught me that the best way to go through life is with a smile.  He taught me how to look for the best in people and because of that- I met my spouse.  So I am forever grateful to him because of that.
I regret not having answered his last phone call but I know I’ll see him again in some other, more perfect, and pain-free place.

My sincere and heartfelt condolences to Richard's Mom, brothers and sisters, and all his family and friends. It is with heavy heart to say goodbye to a dear friend of whom he was a big part in my youth. We sang, had a great time with our friends, played guitars together, and simply hung out as great pals. Always a comedian, full of joy and laughter, and a thoughtful friend to me, my sister, and family. You will be missed amigo. Praying for God's mercy on your soul and comfort and consolation, health and peace to your family and all who remain. Your old friend, Jimmy Quintanar and my family.
