Peggy Joyce Wilson gently passed away surrounded by family on June 15, 2017 at the age of 87. Peggy was born October 5, 1929 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Sirrilda Jane Cromeans and Robert Elmer James. She was raised in Houston, Texas then spent the next sixty years as a resident of El Paso, Tx. Peggy worked for Shell Oil before retiring from Santa Fe Railroad. She celebrated 61 years of marriage to Jimmys Wilson. She was a life member of the UTEP Women’s Auxiliary and Eastside Welcome Club. She loved to play bridge and bunko with her many great friends. She loved to travel and went all over the world until Macular Degeneration took her sight.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and brother, R.E. James. She is survived by her husband Jimmy Wilson, her sister Dorothy Brown, daughter Debra Taylor and her husband Dan, son Bobby Wilson and wife April, and grandchildren Catherine Taylor, Gregory Taylor, Amanda Wilson, and James Wilson.
Peggy was a dog lover and a devoted UTEP Miner fan. She was a wonderful mother who ran the household and worked a full-time job. We would like to thank all her friends who looked after each other. Dr. Muneer Aussi, Dr. Michael Deluca, Dr. David Schecter, Dr. Purdy, the Tender Care Staff, White Acres staff and Envision Hospices. Special thanks to her housekeeper Mary and all the wonderful people at Eastside Café.
The memorial service will be held on June 21, 2017 at Martin Funeral Home on 3839 Montana St at 1:00 pm. Donations may be made to the El Paso Lighthouse for the Blind, 200 Washington St. El Paso, Tx 79905 or the Univeristy of Texas at El Paso.
