Pablo "Pelin" Hernandez Jr, 88, passed away the 7th of May 2022. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Guillermina Zamora Hernandez, his 6 children, Vickie, Peter, David (Sylvia), JoAnn (Fernie) Duarte., R. Michael (Jolie), and Melissa Smith (Ricardo)Lujan, 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Pablo Hernandez, Sr. and Florentina Casas Hernandez; brothers Rodolfo Hernandez, Raul Hernandez and Robert Hernandez.
He was a hard working man, serving his country in the United States Marine Corps and his community working 36 years with the El Paso Independent School District and 18 more years with St. Clement's Parish School. He spent his active years enjoying hunting and fishing with his sons and playing racquetball, making life-long acquaintances. He was a lover of opera, western movies, classical music, and music genres. He was strong-willed and would help those around him in need without much thought. He was a trumpet player and played for the US Marine Corps Band and proud alumni of Jefferson High School, being a member of the marching band and the football team. He was loved by many and will be profoundly missed.
A visitation for Pablo will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with Prayer service at 7:00 PM, at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Avenue, El Paso, Texas 79903. A committal service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Avenue, Fort Bliss, Texas 79906.
