Oscar Zuloaga Sr. “Papa” born in El Paso, Texas on December 14, 1934 passed away on Sunday November 9, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his Wife, Margie McKinley Zuloaga. Children: Lizzy Zuloaga-Hernadez, Oscar Zuloaga Jr. and wife Rosie Zuloaga, Sylvia Hernandez and husband Victor Hernandez, Susan Acevedo, Maria Zuloaga and Theresa Zuloaga. Grandchildren: Amber Gavit and husband Cody Gavit, Franky Orona, Tiffany Hernandez, Michael Orona and wife Krista Orona, Jeannae Zuloaga, T.J. Paredes, Tina Orona, Zach Zuloaga, Jori Zuloaga, Louie Hernandez, Megan Acevedo and Mazi Benecke. Great Grandchildren: Michael Mendoza Jr. and Emery Gavit.
“Papa” was a passionate NASCAR and Sprint car racing fan. He was a Korean War Veteran who proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955 and served four years in the Reserves. He retired from Fort Bliss Civil Service and he was a member of the Segura McDonald VFW, the American Legion, the Korean Veterans and the D.A.V.
Oscar “Papa” will be remembered most for his acts of kindness as he always gave the best he had to his family, friends and even to total strangers. He loved people and made friends everywhere he went. We love and admire you “Papa” for all we learned from you. We will miss you!
Family and Friends are invited to pay their respects and celebrate “Papa’s” life on Sunday, November 16, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM with the Rosary to begin at 7:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Kaster-Maxon & Futrell, 8817 Dyer Street. A funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 17, 2014 in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the Funeral Service at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
