He was one of twelve children, his brother Merced Valenzuela passed at a young age in CA. He had ten sisters, Anita, Amelia, Bertha, Eliza, Eulalia, Jenny, Julia, Lucia, Marta and Regina.
He attended Bowie High School and he was more than proud to be a Bowie Bear! He also attended UTEP and achieved his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and graduated 5/12/1974. He served with the United States Air Force and completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base and served three years in Bitburg, Germany. He often reminisced about how beautiful Germany and Europe was to him, a lifetime experience. He retired from Civil Service as the Chief Plans Officer for WBAMC at 53 years old.
He is survived by his wife Lucy Sambrano Valenzuela, they were married for 62 years (4-24-1960). Their oldest son Ronald M Valenzuela was born 11/8/1961 and passed suddenly on 10/22/2011, their daughter Pamela Miller resides in El Paso, Texas, and their son Daniel M Valenzuela resides in Houston, TX.
Nick was fond of art at a very young age, loved Bowie Reunion dances with Lucy and their compadres. Nick and Lucy had a love for all dancing but mostly country western dancing and music. He also had a love for golf and running marathons, reading was also a favorite past time he loved.
Services will be held on 3/14/2023 at St. Joseph's Catholic church @ 9:30 am, located at 3729 Hueco Ave, El Paso, Tx 79903, the burial will follow at 11:00 am at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, Fort Bliss, Texas 79906. All family and loved ones are welcome to gather for an informal Celebration of Life. Please contact family members for details.
Nick will be missed by all his family, friends and loved ones and will be remembered in our hearts. May he soar in the heavens with his loved ones...until we meet again you will always be remembered and forever loved!
