Michael Stephen Martinez

Michael (Mike) Martinez passed away on March 7, 2023. He was a graduate of Ysleta High School. He served in the US Air Force with tours of duty in Vietnam, Thailand, and Germany. After receiving his business degree from UTEP, he became a general manager for Ardan’s and Cashway. He then continued his education by receiving his master's degree from Sul Ross State University. He was a teacher and administrator at Eastwood High School and an administrator for Rio Bravo Middle School, Riverside High School, and Plato Academy.

Mike was known for his laugh, humor, and love for his family, staff, and students.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Susan, and daughters Angela (JR) and Bernadette (Jason). Grandchildren Zachary, Dominic, Aeris, and Milana. Siblings George (Connie), Susie, Lucy, Terry, Robert, sister-in-law Norma, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, George Sr. and Socorro and his brothers, Richard and Steven.

The visitation and rosary will be held at Martin Funeral Home East on George Dieter From 4 p,m to 8 p.m. with vigil at 6 p.m.. Mass will be at St Raphael’s Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. Thursday March 16, 2023, with interment at 11 a.m. Fort Bliss Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family humbly requests that a donation be made to an El Paso charity of your choice.
