On April 7th, 2022, our beloved Mary Helen Munoz, went to join her family in Heaven. Born to Mary Terrazas+(Willie “Papo” Terrazas Sr.+) and Alfredo Garcia+ on July 18th 1941, Helen was a force to be reckoned with and was beloved by everyone who met her. She was born in Carlsbad, NM, grew up in El Paso, Texas with her loving siblings, Lovey Cervantes, Willie Terrazas Jr., Alfredo “Buddy” Garcia+, Yolie Herrera and Rey Terrazas, and graduated from Ysleta High School. Helen is survived by her husband Leopoldo Munoz Jr., her loving children, Rebecca Marie+ and Doug Dooley+, Richard Barron Jr.+ and Cathy Wickham, Suze and Adrian Aguirre, Bobby and Laura Barron and their father, Richard “Chito” Barron Sr., Rachel Angela Munoz, Rey and Lorrie Munoz; her grandchildren whom she loved very much, Tori Samantha Barron, Jordan Nicholas Barron, Clarissa M. Ornelas, Jacob Christopher Barron, Naomi Renee Aguirre, Adam Robert Barron, Adrian Richard Aguirre, Jake Ryan Munoz and Lauren Munoz and great grandson Richard Lukas Duran and her beloved puppy “Woofie”. She was also cherished by her many nieces, nephews and God-children.
It is with great sadness that our family must lay such a beautiful and caring soul to rest. Our Helen will always be remembered for her quick wit, her dazzling smile and her outrageous sense of humor. She loved to sing and dance and taught her grandchildren, especially the boys, how to dance to all kinds of music. She was a woman made of strength and unconditional love and we will miss her every single day. She will remain forever in the hearts and minds of all those who had the honor of knowing her.
Rosary and Viewing will both take place on Saturday April 16, 2022 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina, El Paso, Texas. Rosary will begin at 12:00 pm and will also be offered as a live stream online for family that is out of town through the funeral home FaceBook page. We want everyone to remember “Helman” as she was, a woman who loved us all unconditionally.
