A lifetime resident of El Paso, TX, she graduated from El Paso High School in 1946 and there after remained an active, proud and loyal Tiger Alumna. She loved and dedicated herself to a 47 year career with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, where she was highly regarded and respected by her colleagues as one of the first and few female Federal Reserve banking executives of her time. Mary Louise ended her successful banking career with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas after serving in the prestigious position of Assistant Vice President in February 1994. Subsequently, she remained active in FRB functions and lived a full, happy and active life in retirement. The youngest of twelve siblings, she was preceded in death by her cherished mother and father, Elena A. and Jose Mapula, two infant brothers, along with brothers, Jesus, Joe and Frank and sisters Margarita, Hortencia, Helen and Carmen. Always a proud mother, she is survived by her daughters, Sandra Elena Rosas Telles and Cynthia Louise Rosas, two grandchildren, Kristen L. Mendoza and Aaron S. Hernandez, four great grandchildren, Lauren A. Brehm, Kyle R. Pottenger, Carson S. and Tanner M. Pottenger, her adored sister, Stella Mapula Aguilar and many dear nieces and nephews. Last but not least, with paw prints on her heart, she leaves behind her much loved and treasured loyal friend and pet companion “Jolie Mon Amie”. Her Life’s devotion was to her family, all of whom she felt immense and passionate love.
Special and heartfelt thanks to her beautiful beloved, selfless caregivers, Norma and Marilu, whose unconditional love accompanied her, throughout the last three years to her last breath of her life’s journey. You touched her heart and she embraced you as her family. Endless thanks to Fr. Steven Peters, friend and family priest, who has been with her throughout joy and sorrow.
