Mary S. Brock

Mary Stone Brock, 87, passed away December 31, 2021 in her sleep after a long battle with Dementia and now joins God in Heaven. Born in Jamestown, New York, 1934 and found her way via Continental Airlines as a stewardess to El Paso where she married W. Gorman Brock in 1962. She is survived by her daughter Anne Brock Kocian, husband John, and her granddaughters, Katherine and Kimberly, her son Patrick Stone Brock and wife Carol Ann.

Mary, a Certified Financial Planner, had been in the financial planning, investments, and tax preparation field since 1980. Mary was on the forefront of women in business as she started her own self-employed financial planning business. Prior to that, she was the general manager of The El Paso Symphony Orchestra for four years and an account executive for a prominent public relations firm. Her academic credentials include a master’s degree in English from UTEP. She was a graduate of Leadership El Paso Class 2. Her civic activities include past president of the Tri-State Opera Guild; past board of directors member, of the Business Committee for the Arts, Leadership El Paso, Discover El Paso, Planned Giving Council, Estate Planning Council, Assistance League, Museum of Art, and most recently on the YWCA Consumer Credit Advisory Board and The Rotary Club.

Mary had a love for travel and adventure and took many cruises with her friends and family.

Mary was a strong, God-fearing woman and attended Mass on a regular basis as her health allowed and an adamant believer of praying the Rosary. Her hope was that everyone would succeed financially and be loved.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 23, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 8 pm with Vigil Service at 6 pm at Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N. Resler Dr. Funeral Mass will be Monday, January 24, 2022 at 9 am at St. Patrick Cathedral. Graveside Service will follow at 10:30 am at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
