Born July 29, 1925-Died July 16, 2016 in her upper valley home where she lived over 62 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Alexander H. Carameros, parents, Rube and Mary Kate Evans, sisters, Kittie Newman and Carolyn Evans Ross.
Mary Ann was a member of pioneer ranching families Evans, Cowden, and Means. As a child she lived on the Evans ranch in the Davis Mountains until her family moved to El Paso in the early 1930’s. They became members of First Baptist Church where Mary Ann was active in many programs. She graduated from Austin High School and Texas College of Mines (University of Texas at El Paso) and she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She was also a member of El Paso Woman’s Club and Book Club, Auxiliary of Gideon’s International and Baptist Women on Mission.
Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church, Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 10 am with Bob Nickell and David Lowrie officiating.
Pallbearers are her two sons, Chris and Greg Carameros, her grandson Tyson Carameros, her granddaughter’s husband Bill Kosla, her nephews Carl and George D. Carameros III, and her longtime friend Junior Ruiz.
Interment will be at Restlawn Cemetery beside her precious husband.
Contributions can be made in her honor to the following charities she held so dear: Gideon’s International, Bloys Camp Meeting, First Baptist Church and the El Paso Baptist Clinic.
