Heaven has gained a beautiful man in Martin Beltran who passed away at the age of 80 on May 23, 2022. He was born in Leasburg, New Mexico on November 11, 1942. Martin was a hero having served his country in the U.S. Army from where he was honorably discharged in 1965. He then served his community with much pride as an officer with the El Paso Police Department retiring as a detective. We will greatly miss his admirable personality and we graciously thank those who served him in his last months of life: The staff at Patriot Nursing Home, Mr. Mitch of the McKinley House, Ms. Emma and staff from the Ambrosio Guillen State Veterans Home, Lily from the Franklin Heights Nursing Home and Felipe of Vista Alegre Nursing Home. Our thanks also go to Liz from Hospice and Erica Salazar from Hillcrest Funeral Home. Special thanks to Police Chief Greg Allen and Jose Vargas, United States Marine Ret. Those whom Martin loved and cared for should find comfort in knowing he is now in peace and free from suffering. We would like to invite friends and family to bid a final farewell to Martin. Memorial Visitation will be Monday, December 5, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home East, 1060 N. Carolina Drive, with procession departing at 2:30 p.m. Graveside Service will follow at 3 p.m. at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
