Martha V. Miranda, (98) Born January 19,1924. Our beautiful, loving Mother went with the Lord on Sunday, May 22, 2022, in Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leopoldo (Leo) A. Miranda Sr., mother, Adelaida Ruiz Viveros, father, Alejandro Viveros, brothers, Pilar, Alejandro, Estanislado, twin brothers, Emilio and Salvador, and sisters, Carmen Marquez, and Maria Luisa Viveros.
Still living to cherish her memories are her three sons, Leopoldo A. (Mando) Miranda Jr. (Dolores), Albert Tomas Miranda, Oscar Miranda (Leticia), and daughter, Sandra (Sandy) Vargas, (Pete); 15 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; sister, Delfina (Tefi) Puga, and several nieces and nephews.
Martha attended Aoy Elementary and Bowie High School. In order to help her Mom with family, she started working at Kress store, Providence Hospital and continuing her career path at Beaumont Army Hospital where she met our Dad Leo. They married on April 8,1945. She studied and acquired her cosmetology license however, dedicated her life to providing a warm and loving home to her husband, kids, and Grandkids. Mom volunteered and enjoyed activities at Friendly and Memorial Senior Centers, where she was elected Treasurer and selected to serve as Queen several times. She also volunteered at the USO, was an associate member of the 19th Rifle Company Foundation, and a volunteer of the Marine Corp Ball Committee.
Mom Martha, Grandma, Ita Sandy, will always be remembered for her Faith, enthusiasm, and joy of life. She loved ceramics, crafts, watching TCM movies, Big Band music, and dancing was a big influence in her life. Most of all she loved her kids and grandkids and will always be the root of the family and known as the foundation of unity!
Our thanks to Dr. Divya Muthappa, Boerne, Texas. River City Hospice of San Antonio, her nurses, Becky, Morgan, Jessie, Yolanda and CNA’s, Mary Nelda and Gracie, Social Worker, Sue and Chaplain, Lance. Your compassion and care were extremely amazing, dignified, and truly appreciated.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 16, from 4 to 8PM, Rosary Service at 6:30PM, at St Joseph Catholic Church, 1315 Travis Street, El Paso, Texas. Father Edward Carpenter officiating. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, June 17, at 10:00AM at St Joseph Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Dr. John A. Miranda, Oscar Miranda, Jr., Jeremiah Jude Miranda, Aaron Emmanuel Miranda, Peter Isaac Vargas, and Matthew Dominic Morin.
Honorary Pallbearers: Juan R. Puga, Todd Kleinheinz, Greg Sutton, Jaime Franco, Ray Del Rio, Joel Moniz, Hicham Bakkar, Jacob Farrow.
