Margaret “Marge” Wollschlager passed away peacefully at home in El Paso, Texas at the age of 89, on December 9, 2014. She was born on October 11, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois to Henry and Elizabeth Schroll. At the age of 6, she was afflicted with polio, which affected her health until her last days. She married Raymond Anthony Wollschlager on April 27, 1943, the man who adored her and helped her to look and live beyond her disabilities, and they had three children: Patricia, Larry and Terry. Marge first worked in currency exchange then entered into a series of entrepreneurial ventures with her husband, Ray. These ventures included, but were not limited to a dry cleaning company, a Dairy Queen, RayMar’s Restaurant & Bar and the Wig Wam resort. They lived together in Chicago, Missouri and Florida. Grandma Marge absolutely loved to cook and eat, especially cream dried beef, pigs in blankets, chop suey, fried chicken, cookies, pies and anything sweet. She loved to play cards, bingo and dominos – although some would debate her “rules” while playing. She often accompanied her son Terry on fishing expeditions. She was also a talented artist, painting many landscapes. Anything pink – and any shade of pink – made her happy. About 4 years ago, "Grandma Marge" and Uncle Terry moved to El Paso, Texas to be closer to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marge is survived by her three children, Patricia, Larry (wife Kristina) and Terry Wollschlager; her five grandchildren, Faun Weaver, Chia Stewart, Emma Schwartz (husband Douglas), Lawrence Wollschlager and Jacob Wollschlager; her four great-grandchildren, MacKenzie and Taylor Stewart, and Sienna and Milan Schwartz; and her dog Lucky. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Elizabeth Schroll; her siblings Chuck, Art, Dorothy and Don Schroll; and her husband Raymond Wollschlager.
Dear Grandma, we all send you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck ‘cause we love you and we miss you.
