Manuel “Manny” Zuloaga, lifelong resident of El Paso, passed away on September 8, 2014. The second of twelve children, he was born to Antonio Zuloaga and Maria Grado Zuloaga on October 2, 1926. Manny is survived by his wife of 64 years, Madge Zuloaga and their four children and spouses: Richard and Jill, Deborah, Eric and Letty, and Jeff and Kaysie. He has seven grandchildren, Stacie and her husband Bo Hilby, Scott, Kimberly, Justin, Noah, Jake and Morgan. Manny also has one great-granddaughter, Charlotte Hilby. He was preceded in death by his and Madge’s sons Skip and Stevie and great-grandson Everett Hilby. Manny served honorably in the United States Navy during World War II from 1944-46 and upon returning home after the war started working in construction. He built many fine homes, apartments and commercial buildings throughout El Paso and retired in 1991. Manny had a life-long love for golf and enjoyed playing with his friends and family and traveling the world with Madge. His wit, work ethic, and dedication to his family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary Service starting at 7:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home West. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1551 Belvidere. Interment will follow at 11:30 AM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The First Tee of Greater El Paso, an organization which fosters morals, character and sportsmanship through golf lessons to young people.
