Manuel Soto, 80, passed away February 12, 2012. Manuel was born in El Paso, Texas, to Manuel and Herminia Soto. He was a “golden gloves” boxer as a young man and later went on to serve in the United States Army, during the Korean War. He started his family in southern California, returning several years later to El Paso. He was an expert glazier, all his life, mostly in the commercial construction field. Several of his sons learned his trade and carried on the tradition, much to his admiration. A Dallas Cowboys fan to the end, he always enjoyed watching them play. “Red”, as he was known to many, was a hard worker and a good provider who will truly be missed. He is reunited in heaven with his sons Bobby and Steven. Survivors include his spouse, Trinidad, sons, John (Mari), Tony (Vivian), Eddie, Henry (Mary), Charles and Richard (Martha). Grandchildren, who will keep his memory alive, are Desiree, Leila, Sarah, Eddie Jr., Eric, Adam, Bobby, Felicia, Michelle, Justin, Sergio and Juanito Other survivors include his brothers, Paul, Daniel, Jimmy and his sister, Irene, as well as many nephews, nieces, friends and relatives. Visitation will be from 5 – 9 pm, Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Harding-Orr & McDaniel Funeral home with Rosary at 7:00pm. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30am, Friday, February 17, 2012 at San Antonio de Pauda Catholic Church with an entombment at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
