Manuel Chavez

Manuel Chavez passed away at home on Friday, August 15, 2014. He is preceded in death by his mother, Bernarda Chavez and his brother Jesus Jose Chavez. He is survived by his father, Ramiro Chavez, wife, Gloria Chavez, sons; Manny, Charlie and Salvador; daughters, Yvette (Bert) and Cristina, his loving grandchildren; Manny Jr., Felicia, Isabella, Matthew, Athena, Celeste and Zachary, brothers; Ramiro (Norma), Conrado, Roberto (Skyda), Alvaro (Sylvia) and Ramon, sisters; Maria Dolores (Martha) and Margaret (Keith). Also left to remember him are many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Manny graduated from Austin High School in 1972 and continued a lifetime of friendships with his fellow Panthers. A caring, loving and generous man, he was a blessing to all who knew him and was always there to lend a helping hand, whether it be family, neighbors or even just a stranger in need. His love of family, especially his grandkids, whom he adored were always first and foremost. He was loved by all and will be forever missed. TE AMO MI AMOR, until we meet again. Rest in Peace. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2014, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.
