Manuel Avila, Sr. 80, beloved husband, father, father in law, grandfather and brother, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014. Lifelong resident of El Paso. He worked for the newspaper printing corporation for over 30 years, going up the ranks to zone manager. Always involved with his newspaper carriers, his family observed Manuel being cherished and deeply loved & appreciated. He is survived by his wife, Juanita , five sons: Manuel Avila Jr., Pedro Avila, Daniel Quian, Jose Luis Quian, & Juan Carlos Quian, 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 4 sisters: Rosa Pedroza, Margarita Marquez, Catalina Herrera & Lupe Davila; many relatives to include brothers-in-law, nephews and nieces. Manuel’s hobbies included professional wrestling, golf, reading, writing poetry & watching his favorite football team “The Washington Redskins”. Visitation to be held Friday, March 28, 2014 from 8:00 am until 9:00 am with a rosary at 9:15 am at Martin Funeral Home Central 3839 Montana Ave. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church 2709 Alabama at 10:30 am on Friday March 28, 2014 with interment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragosa Road. Manuel leaves a legacy of leadership, love, loyalty, obedience, and reverence to God.
