Katitza Gerdau, January 31, 2012, age 43. Born high in the Andes in La Paz, Bolivia, she immediately developed greater lung capacity, which she used to breathe blessings on all who met her. A diplomat's daughter, based in Lima, Peru, she lived around the world. Kati (Kah-tee) met Greg at Purdue University and joining hands they came to El Paso. Working at UTEP she installed and ran all technologies in the new Undergraduate Learning Center. She then breathed life into two businesses, Sirius Images, Inc. and Ximis, Inc. No job too big nor too small, she retouched cherished old photos and designed and developed a medical information system that could speak the local language in the many countries where it ran. She hired dozens of UTEP graduates offering them upwardly mobile opportunities to work HARD in a high technology company with a Grand Vision. She sold Ximis and opened Knyra, LLC to educate us on health and nutrition. Kati is survived by all she did, all she said, by her love, and by those whom she showed how to be better, to love more, and to dream big. Visiting times are Monday, February 6, 2012, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, with a Rosary Service at 12:15 pm at Martin Funeral Home West. She will be laid to rest at home in Peru. In lieu of flowers, Kati asked that contributions be made to the Child Crisis Center of El Paso, http://www.childcrisiselp.org Services entrusted to Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N.
