Juan H. Montelongo, age 87, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021 in El Paso, Texas. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and will be dearly missed. Juan was born April 21, 1934 in Ciudad Juarez and immigrated to El Paso at an early age. He was in a band in the late 70’s and was an accomplished trumpet player. In his spare time, Juan loved watching sports and following his favorite teams, the Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Sylvia Luna and survived by his wife of 59 years, Petra Montelongo, children: Martha Tarin, Alfredo Montelongo, Sonia Onofre, grandchildren: Eddie Tarin, Bryan Tarin, Alfredo Montelongo Jr., Heather Luna, Isaac Luna, Keith Centeno, Mariah Tarin, Alyssa Montelongo and thirteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by various friends and family members who will cherish and honor his memory.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm with a Vigil/Rosary at 6:00pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina Dr.
