My Favorite Santa is resting in heaven. Till we meet again!

Every morning you told me I was beautiful and that you loved me. I will never forget you! I carry you in my heart always.

My dear husband, every morning you greeted me with a smile on your face and an I love you on your lips. You always told me I was beautiful. This past year we took that trip to California you always wanted to take. I'm so glad we were able to do that. You were so happy. I'll miss your smile and your beautiful eyes. Every night when you went to bed I gave you your good night kiss. I gave you your last kiss on the morning of January 6. I held your hand one last time. That will have to hold me until we meet again. You will always be in my heart. 

I remember Joe attending my parents funerals with my cousin Mickey.  He seemed like a loving, caring man.  Joe thank you for making my cousin so happy and loving her so much all those years. You will be missed.

Mother's Day 2019 with Anthony, Charlie, Shawn and my folks. 

Joe, you were nothing but warm, kind, and encouraging to those around you. When I think of you, I think of how well you fit into the role of Santa for the kids at our school. I think of your contagious laughter whenever the chihuahuas would act crazy or grandma and I would dance together and mess up the steps. I think of your delicious menudo and perfectly grilled steaks. I think of how you smiled with your eyes, and how comforted and secure I would feel when you smiled at me from across the room. I think of how fascinated you were by my pursuits in life, and how much you would encourage me to draw, sing, dance, do magic tricks, anything that would make me happy. You gave me a wonderful childhood and I will forever be grateful for having you in my life. I'm the luckiest granddaughter in the world. I will never stop loving you and missing you. When my time comes, I'll find you again. 

Joe will always be remembered as a kind, gentle, compassionate, supportive and loving person. He was a great husband to my mom, and a proper father figure to me, my siblings and my niece who grew up in my parents home. I remember my mom telling me how he respected the fact that I toughed it out on the streets when I was homeless, and made it back on my own two feet even though the option to go back home was always available. And I'll always remember how fascinated he was when I made puff pastry and homemade croissants in their kitchen during a visit.  We definitely bonded over cooking and food.
The love, encouragement and support he put out into the world was a very tangible force, which makes his loss all the more painful. And it pains me so profoundly that I didn't have the chance to tell him that I loved him before he passed. Joe will be remembered fondly and dearly missed by many.

I am truly blessed to have known Mr. Vigil. He was one of the sweetest men I have known. Always had a smile on his face, even when his knee hurt. He would walk the halls of Jose Damian smiling brightly, spreading his contagious laugh. There are no words of comfort, just beautiful memories.  I thank our Heavenly Father for giving me the opportunity to meet Joe while we worked together at Jose Damian and I thank him for the memories. We had countless meetings, both serious and funny and with either one he always made me smile. May your family be comforted in knowing how many lives you have touched and impacted by your contagious smile and chuckle. 

I remember that my Mother-in-law (Amelia) would say "count your blessings" and we had ours with Joe.  Although he didn't have any children of his own, he was a father to others that needed him and for the children in Jose Damian.   He was especially a blessing for taking care of my children and grandchildren while at school.  

Joe if you can hear and/or see this I would like to thank you for watching over our kids and having a blessed heart for the children.   

My memory of Joe means alot to me and my granddaughter Sofia, she attended Jose Damian Elem. for 2 years. One day she came home so happy with a pic she took with Santa Clause, she told me if I wanted to know why she loved it so much,  so I told her please tell me and she said well Grandma I know who Santa is and she yelled Joe he lives in the north pole and he's also our janitor how great is that, shes  so happy that she knows the real Santa.. Every year she tells me remember who Santa is grandma, never forget him and I promised her that I never would ever forget him ❤🙏😢 RIP Santa Joe ❤Thank you for making my Sofia so happy...

When Joe came into our family he was immediately loved. He had a big heart, patience and a beautiful soul. I will miss him dearly. 

Joe was always very nice and always made me feel accepted! He will surely be missed  and remembered! I’m glad I got the chance to know him! I pray for his family that God grants them peace ❤️ 

I remember all of us growing up together and always playing outside on Songland rd. We would have great times playing different games . You were always a very caring person and had a big warm smile !! You are home now and one day we will all be together again . RIP Joe and see you  when we get to the other side .

I met Joe at my nephew’s wedding. He was very kind. I know my nephews and nieces loved him as much as he loved them.  Mickey found herself a wonderful, kind man to share her life with and that is something very special and magical.   He will live in their hearts forever.  God has taken him into his loving arms. 

To my Tio Joe, you were a wonderfully kind and patient person. I have never heard a negative word from you, and I have never heard a negative word against you, because you were a loving person and everyone loved you. You, and your menudo, will be missed. Rest in Peace, Tio.

When my family moved to the community of Borderland in the Summer of 1970 I got to meet David Brannon, Pat Salcido, Jack Ruiz and last but not least Jose Vigil,we all were good friends that lived in the same neighborhood , we did everything together, played basketball at Jacks house and football on Songland street to include taking turns riding David Brannons mini bike, Jose was shorter than all of us but he was quick and used that to his advantage and smiled every time he burned us on a pass play or a layup. He was always respectable and a smile that came with his laugh we will always remember. He was well liked by classmates and always willing to play jokes on other students. Rest in Peace my Friend.     

May  Almighty God send his Angel's to guide you to his  Eternal  Kingdom. May your family greet you with  joy for you have come home.       Joe you will be  missed. Rest in peace Primo.  To the  family, may Almighty God  comfort you all in your time of sorrow.

We are so sorry to hear of your passing Joe. You were a very wonderful person.  We are so glad you and Mickey came to visit us. We made  you sure you got to eat Clam chowder and that fresh fish you so wanted to taste! My dad was so happy to have you guys visit! You always treated my Dad with so much kindness and respect. You made your "killer" menudo for him when we came for my Tia's Amelia's funeral.  You and my brother Carlos really knew how to have fun with that movie camera many years ago when filming family gatherings in El Paso!  Until we meet again!  Ann
