Jose Arturo Martinez, Jr., age 34, affectionately known as "Joey," left us on September 26, 2023, leaving behind cherished memories of a life well-lived.
Born on January 14, 1989, in El Paso, Texas. He was a dedicated truck driver by profession and enjoyed being on the road. Joey was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Dodgers, always rooting for his teams.
Joey’s affection for his furry companions, his dogs, knew no bounds. Music was a constant source of joy for Joey, and he found solace and happiness in the oldies that touched his soul. Joey did not merely embrace life; he lived his life to the fullest. He had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed activities like riding motorcycles and quads. His smile was infectious, and he loved making those around him laugh.
Joey is survived by his loving children, daughter Elexa Renae Martinez and son Zayden Joey Martinez. He leaves behind siblings Roxanne Martinez, Eric Hernandez, Marissa Abila, and Amanda Martinez. Joey's parents, his Father Jose Arturo Martinez and Mother Maria Isela De La Rosa, will forever treasure the memories of their beloved son.
He is preceded by his aunt Josefina Martinez, cousin Carlos Vargas III, grandmother Carmen Martinez, uncle Felipe Martinez, uncle Jose Arturo De La Rosa, grandmother Maria de Jesus Jimenez De La Rosa, cousin Cristopher “Jank” Alderete, and grandfather Benjamin De La Rosa Sr., who have all welcomed him into eternity.
Joey's indomitable spirit will live on through the hearts of his loved ones and all those fortunate enough to have shared in his life's journey. While we mourn his loss deeply, we take solace in cherishing the eternal mark he has left on our hearts.

Visitation for Jose will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with Rosary to begin at 6:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N Resler Dr, El Paso, Texas 79912. Funeral mass will be held Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 9:30 AM at St. Luke Catholic Church, 930 E Redd Rd, El Paso, Texas 79912. Rite of committal will follow at 11:00 AM at Memory Gardens of the Valley, 4900 McNutt Rd, Santa Teresa, New Mexico 88008.
