Joe is survived by his wife, Rosana Monge; his daughter Marilyn J. Monge (Solomon Turner); his daughter Stephanie M. Monge; and his son Joseph J. Monge Jr. (Alejandra Cuellar); his grandchildren Joseph "Jesse" Monge III, Jax A. Monge and Solchi Joe Turner.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Monge and his mother, Rosa Monge; his sister Martha Centeno; and his best friend Manny Minjares.
Sergeant First Class Joe Jesse Monge, is also preceded by those he served beside in Vietnam.
Joe retired from the US Army after over 20 years of service and was stationed in multiple countries. He received multiple decorations for his service in the US Army, to include 3 Bronze Stars for his service during the Vietnam War. After retirement, he served several years as a Deputy Sheriff with the Dona Ana Sheriff Department. Joe later Graduated as a Social Worker and Mental Health Therapist and served Hidalgo, Luna and Dona Ana County in Southern New Mexico and The El Paso Center for Children.
A Visitation for Joe will be held Monday, February 26, 2024 from 7:00pm to 10:00pm at Funeraria del Angel Hillcrest West, 5054 Doniphan Dr., El Paso, Texas 79932, with a Rosary beginning at 8:00pm. A Funeral Mass will occur Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 10:00am at St Jude Catholic Church, 4006 Hidden Way, El Paso, Texas 79932.
