Jeffrey N. Ivey, well known and loved by the lower valley farming community, passed to his eternal home on January 17, 2017. Jeffrey was born on June 20, 1959. He grew up in Tornillo and naturally took to farming. After graduating from Tornillo High School, he received his degree in agricultural economics from New Mexico State University. He settled in South Texas where he met his wife of 31 years, Patricia, and began a family while he managed Pueblo tire stores and several pawn shops. Returning to El Paso County he managed a farm and real estate ventures, and served on the El Paso Appraisal Review Board. He acquired his own pecan farm in Fabens and successfully ran it along with the neighboring farm. Jeffrey loved to laugh and was highly gifted and accurate with accounting, land values, along with many other talents. Mostly he was known for his outstanding generosity and soft heart.
Jeffrey is survived by his beloved wife Patricia, children Michael (Krisell), Jeffrey, Ashley, Jennifer, and Charles, and three grandchildren. He is also survived by parents Charles and Mary Joyce Ivey, and siblings Craig, Richard, Mary Elizabeth, and Everett. A special thank you goes out to Cima Hospice and Patty O'Day for extraordinary care during his final days. Visitation will be held from 5:00- 9:00pm on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Crestview Funeral Home with a Vigil/Rosary to begin at 7:00pm. A Funeral Mass will begin at 10am Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 14132 McMahon Ave. Horizon City with Interment to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
