Guadalupe “Lupe” Badillo Cuellar, 74, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016 in El Paso, TX. Born to Augustine and Socorro Cuellar, Lupe was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Cuellar, sons, Augustine Cuellar and wife Lynn, Lupe Cuellar, Jr and wife Deborah, Henry Cuellar and wife DeeDee, Scott Cuellar and wife Karen; daughter Cassandra Juarez and husband Eddie; mother Socorro Cuellar; brother Raymond Cuellar and wife Nelly; sister Gloria Flores and husband Fred; grandchildren: Matthew, Stephanie, Michael, Joshua, Andrew, Josiah, Rebecca, Evan, Mikayla, Ellen; and great grandchildren: Ransom, Shepard and Petra.
Lupe grew up in Las Cruces, NM and graduated from Las Cruces High School in 1961. He was married to Lydia Villegas and later married Sylvia Cuellar in 1976. Lupe retired from Iron Age Safety Shoes in 2004 as the general manager of the Mexico division. He was driven and always strove for success. He was recognized and promoted time after time. He loved God, his family, and had great passion for shooting his guns. He was an excellent marksman and had perfected the art to a science. He passed in the comfort of his home from stage 4 liver cancer surrounded by loved ones.
A memorial service will be held at Martin Funeral Home Central, 3839 Montana Ave, El Paso, TX 79903 on Friday May 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Primera Iglesia Bautista, 905 Chaparro St, Las Cruces, NM 88001.
