He is preceded in death by his beautiful wife Margarita Cantu, his parents Florencio Cantu and Julia Mata Cantu.
Our dad was a proud member of the United States Army and was stationed in White Sands, NM. By God's grace, he was not sent off to war and had the great fortune of meeting his beautiful wife in El Paso, TX.
Our dad was an extraordinary man. He was such a loving and giving person and would do anything for his family. His heart was larger than life, and it truly belonged to his wife, daughters, son in laws and grandchildren. If we needed something or had an emergency, he was the first one to jump in his truck and come to the rescue. Dad loved to joke around with his family. He would make up funny last names for all of us or would poke fun at politicians and laugh along with us with all his heart. Dad loved his daughters so much that even to his last breath, he continued to worry about us.
Dad loved music and would love to sit by the record player, listen to music, and reminisce about the good old days. Dad really enjoyed music from great artists such as Floyd Cramer, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Chet Atkins, The Ventures, and Fats Domino.
Our dad put his artistic skills on display and was a successful draftsman for General Instruments in El Paso, TX. He was also a draftsman at Ft. Bliss, TX and was even given the task of drawing plans for a beautiful marquis sign that was constructed in Ft. Bliss at the Forest Gate entrance.
Our dad was an extremely talented person. He loved to draw and was a master of the arts. Dad would love to take on projects for his daughters including drawing paintings, make beautiful woodwork figurines, and even make creations such as cabinets, desks, and even home remodeling for his wife and daughters.
We love you and will miss you so much Dad, but we are at peace knowing that you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Your sins are forgiven, and you are in the Kingdom of God looking down on your loved ones. We can just imagine the joy you felt and experienced when you saw mom, your parents, and your brother once again up in Heaven.
Till we meet again "Apacito," we love you so much!
