Esther was preceded in death by her loving son, Joseph Kelly Mendoza; parents, Telesforo and Carmen Delgado; and siblings Sixto Lujan, Esperanza Muller, Virginia Cottman, and Carmen Frausto.
Esther is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Joe G. Mendoza; her daughter Victoria M. Rojas and her son Donaldo Mendoza (Ileene Mendoza); her grandchildren Eddie Rojas Jr., Dominic Mendoza, and Jacob Mendoza; her great grandchildren, Reuben Rojas, Samantha Rojas, and Harlo Mendoza; and her great great grandson, Benjamin Rojas.
Esther is also survived by her siblings Irene Delgado, Hector Delgado and Mary Louise Guzman. Esther was also blessed with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Esther was also the Godmother to many children. Esther was happiest when spending time with her large family, especially her grandchildren and close friends.
Esther was born in Lordsburg, New Mexico and moved to El Paso soon after graduating from Lordsburg High School in 1954. She attended and graduated from Cosmetology School in El Paso and became a successful and talented beautician.
During her successful career she met and became good friends with many prominent people in El Paso. Later in her career she was fortunate to work alongside her two sisters, Esperanza Muller and Irene Delgado, in their own Beauty Salons.
Esther loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was always the life of the party. She was very sociable and loved to entertain in her beautiful home, which was a reflection of her creativity and artistic taste. She was great at decorating and often helped others decorate their homes. Esther loved to travel and had a great sense of direction, which helped her navigate during her travels all over the world. She loved to explore new places and visit family and friends, and she did so every chance she could. Esther was also a wonderful cook. She was most notably known for her delicious red enchilada sauce. Esther had many talents and was loved by many. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her dearly.
A vigil for Mrs. Mendoza with be held on Friday April 5th at 11:00am, with a mass at 12:00pm, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3729 Hueco Ave, El Paso, TX 79903.
