Emilio you were always like a brother to me. My first memories were around you over the years with such great family, I know it’s never goodbye but see you later 🖤

I've just received word about Emilio's passing, and my heart is broken. Emilio was one of my closest friends and I looked forward to continuing to work alongside him in the Merchant Marine. We shared so many amazing memories in Japan... I still remember when he first got there. I was so excited. Him, Bobby Henson, and I had the time of our lives -- yes work was usually rough and tiresome -- but I always knew I had Emilio to lean on. We spoke for a few hours last summer about his plans to start college. I tried to convince him to come to Maine, but that was a hard sell. He settled on Texas A&M and we remained in touch. I wish I had been closer with him as we were in Japan. I guess that we sometimes let life slip through our fingers, we forget that the time that we have is limited. I did not realize that Emilio would be gone so soon. We had so many more memories to make and to look forward to. 

I'm so thankful for the memories that I have with him. 

To Emilio's family: you raised one of the most wonderful young men imaginable. He was kind, smart, caring, and hard-working. He could always put a smile on your face.

He was a brother to me and I love him. He will be in my heart for the rest of my life.

When you grow up in a welcoming family that treats you as their own. With loving tias/tios/cousins and then one of you to be gone from one day to the next still seems so surreal. thank you to this welcoming family bc of how welcoming they were we were able to meet and grow up with such a beautiful soul. Today is the final day we say goodbye to you Emilio, we love you and we will see you again on the other side. 

I love you emilio you were always so fun and great to be around you were a great soul and an even better man no1 could take the impact you made in all our lifes untill we meet again i hope you keep a cold one for me god bless your soul..

Some days I refuse to believe this is true. It feels so surreal as we lay you to sleep in eternal peace I can’t help to feel so grateful for the Delgados for making us like their own since day one (even before we were born) had they not I would’ve not met such a beautiful soul like you, and now you’re gone. You leave us with a huge heart ache and an empty space. Love you cousin. Until I see you again.

We watched Emilio grow as you shared Holiday pictures throughout the years. I had the pleasure of meeting Emilio, and seen what an amazing, successful kindhearted and respectful young man he became. It’s an honor to be his Aunt, we love him dearly. He is loved by many here in California. Emilio, will live on in our hearts.  Sending our condolences with heartfelt sincerity.

Emilio was my first love and someone I think about often. I still have keepsakes and I still continued to love him to this day. I had the honor of growing up with Emilio. My heart ache’s knowing that we wont grow old together. It wasn’t supposed to be like this. I will always wish we had more time, I will wake every morning hoping for a different outcome. I’ve never known a world without Emilio, and I never will. Wherever we all go in this big whole world, he will go with us. His memory will never be forgotten and he’ll always be a part of us. Emilio made an impact on everyone around him. He had the kindest soul, and the most infectious smile. He was the kind of person who would drop anything to help someone else. He was so goofy, always laughing and making others laugh. No words can really sum up the type of man he was. If you had the pleasure of meeting him you’ll understand. Truly a person that is gone way too soon. I love you Emilio, and I am looking forward to that warm embrace you’ll receive me with in Heaven. For now, I know you are resting in peace, and that’s the only thing that makes this heart ache bearable.

Man where to even start A school was one of my best memories a big part to you. You stayed on me to study, would help me in case and always would keep us smiling. You’ll be missed brother!! 

You will always be in our hearts Emilio. From our Kids memories making ramps to go down with bikes, to brownsville beach days, to hearing  about your time in Japan, to meeting up in small trips then  to now the plans in finishing school and working. There was so much you accomplished and yet so much more left to do.  You will be incredibly missed primo. We will forever love you.

I’m still in disbelief that my brother is gone.  You were one of the few people I could be vulnerable with, joke and laugh with, talk to about goals and dreams, go back and forth about how school sucks lol. But I would have never imagined that there would be a day I didn’t get to call you and that the last time I would have saw you was a year ago. I wish we went on our trip to Austin, wish we got to see each other achieve our goals, wish we got to live life in the comfort of knowing that we’d always have each other as friends and as brothers. I’ll get rid of my selfish wishes and accept this new reality. You are no longer suffering and are at peace, and because of that, I am at peace as well. When my time comes, I hope you’re one of the first people to greet me on the other side and you better not roast me for crying so much when I get there lol. Rest well brother. I love you and I’ll miss you. Till we meet again.

I could write a book about the adventures we had and a list of things we still needed to do. To say I'll miss you would be an understatement.  you where more than just my cousin you where my shooting buddy, my juarez buddy, my video game buddy and many other things but most importantly you where my Brother. I'll remember every late night mission we had and every laugh we shared along with every roadtrip we took. It was an honor growing with you these 24 years of your life. Love you always. We had flautas pending this past Monday in juarez but like a wise man once said "it be like that sometimes - Emilio Fernando Reyes" . I'll hold you in my heart until I can hold you in Heaven. 

My sobrino, you will be deeply missed.  My heart aches for us having to go on without you by our side. I thank God for the opportunity to have seen you grow up to an amazing man. You went to soon mijo but God had his plans. Our cigar times will have to wait till we see each other again. Thank you for being a great son, nephew, cousin, grandson and friend.  Love you mijo, so, so much.... 

Although Emilio has passed, he and his memory will always live on in the family and friends that cherished him. He was a dear friend to me, there are some special times we had together in high school. He is greatly missed.

It was my great pleasure to have had Emilio as my student at Texas A&M this spring. A hard and conscientious worker, he was well liked by all across our campus, and had a smile on his face everyday. He and I met often outside of class to discuss many things -- he was a great thinker and one of my best students. This is a hard thing for our Aggie community.  My deepest sympathies to his family. 

He wasn’t just a friend to me, he was the brother I never had.

I am an Aggie Class of 22’. I’m from El Paso TX, as well. Emilio was kind hearted. May he Rest In Peace.
