Edmundo “Ed” Alfonso Anchondo passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family January 18, 2023, at the age of 93. He was born on November 16, 1929, in El Paso, Texas to Juan J. Anchondo and Esther Flores. He was a kind, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Celsa T. Anchondo. His children Eddie Jr. (Cindy), Lourdes Chavez (Mauricio), Yvonne Taylor, Carla Vargas (Rene), Linda and Victor. Grandchildren Yvette Laca (Eddie), Lynette Sweeney (Jerry), Eddie III, Nicole Chavez, Joshua Taylor, Andrea Dorow (Chad), Michael, Rene Jr. and, Dante Vargas, Brittany Anchondo, Victor Jr., and Samantha Anchondo. Great Grandchildren Edward, Anthony, Isaiah, and Dominic Laca, Jasmine and Gia Perez, Stella and Cruz Dorow and a niece Penny Joyce Lorta (Benny). He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Elvira Mitchell.
He graduated from Bowie high school class of 1948. Edmundo served in the US Army. He worked for White Sands Missile Range for 31 years as a Photo-Optics Engineering Technician where he retired in 1990.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023, from 4:00pm to 9:00pm at Funeraria Del Angel Restlawn, Vigil Service at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at 12:30pm at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Graveside Service will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 9025 Diana Dr., El Paso, TX 79904.
