Armando Gamez

Armando Gamez, 56, was called home to be with our heavenly father on December 8, 2014. Mando was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. He was a member of Cristo Rey Catholic Church, graduate of Bel Air High School Class of 1976. He worked at K-Mart for 15 years, received two A.S. Degrees from EPCC and performed with La Fiesta Band for 10 years. Worked at Intel Corp. for 5 years in Chandler, AZ., and came back to El Paso to work at EPCC-ATC. Armando was preceded in death by his father: Marcelo Gamez; and survived by his wife of 32 years, Nancy Candelaria Gamez, daughter: Amanda Bayan (Derrick) , son: Angel Armando Gamez (Fabiola); grandchildren: Camila Aliana Gamez, and Dayanara, Derricka and Damien Bayan; mother: Maria Elisa Gamez; brothers: Manuel (Nellie) Gamez and Marcelo Jr.(Lupe) Gamez; sisters: Rosa (Manuel) Salas, Lupe Hernandez (Mando Vela), Aurora Gamez, Carolina (Isaac) Jaquez, Nena (Santos) Chavez and Virginia Gamez (Jose Ortiz); 16 nieces and nephews, 32 grandnieces and nephews, and one great grandniece. Armando was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend. Remember the good times and deeds he gave with all his heart. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 pm Friday, December 12, 2014 at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina with a Vigil service at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be at 9 am Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Hillcrest Funeral Home 1060 N. Carolina 598-3332.
