Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord.
Antonio Chavez left this earth and went home to be with Jesus on Monday, January 3, 2022. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and good friend to many. Tony was born on June 10, 1933 in Ysleta, Texas in El Paso County. He joins his wife of 43 years, Emma Chavez, in Heaven. He is survived by his four stepdaughters and their husbands, Andy & Delfina Dominguez, Damon & Graciela Phelps, Michael & Rebecca Silva, and Steven & Terry La France. Tony also had three sons from his previous marriage. He also leaves behind his brother Luis Chavez, and several nieces and nephews. Tony served his country in the United States Air Force in Korea, and he served his church as a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Raphael Parish. He retired from the El Paso County Courthouse where he worked as a Probate Administrator. Tony loved to talk and tell stories of days gone by, loved going to Wal-Mart, collecting belt buckles, pens, flashlights, pins, walking sticks and just about anything he could find. We will celebrate his 88 years of life on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 1:30pm with a mass at Saint Raphael Parish, 2301 Zanzibar, El Paso, Texas. We will also have a gravesite service at Fort Bliss on Monday, January 31st at 11:30am.
