Thank you all for coming to pay your respects to my son. Anthony Dameon Chavez was born in El Paso Texas. On 7/01/2000 he began his journey into this world. He was an only child until he turned 15, so our family helped us raise him ( grandparents & parents). He was always around family and always favored family and friends. At a young age Anthony displayed high levels of intelligence but his love and compassion shined through his giant beautiful smile. He loved helping his Grandma Lupe and Grandpa Tino. His loved for people grew exponentially. At age 8 mijo saved all his money from his allowances so he could buy 100, 99 cent cheeseburgers for the homeless population. (not for youtube or any sort of recognition). He just liked to see people smile and appreciated the worth of every person he came across. He could always find the good in people. His philosophy was simple " love all and be happy." When we moved to California 6 years ago Anthony was excited head west. With the beach, music, and the "Venice Skate Park" on his mind. We spent most weekends at Venice and Santa Monica. Even as we transitioned into our new lives out in California he stayed positive. He started to make friends that eventually turned into extended family. ( Blood doesn't make you family) We only had each other to rely on, at our new home in California. When grandma Lupe and grandpa tino passed mijo was devastated. We had each other but hisnew family helped him through the dark time. With time he began to bloom and blossom into this genuine person that had been impacting people within his own circle. ( If Anthony saw you were down he would not hesitate to try and lift you up.) He would tell me " we never know what people are going through." Anthony began venturing into new interests, his own business. Before we knew it he was surrounded by glass artists and like minded individuals that saw him as a ray of sunshine in the industry. He was an art broker that began helping put art in peoples hands. We learned at one point after he passed that he was an inspiration to many. He touched many lives with just a simple conversation or involvement. We live in a world of acceptance and ego. He was a genuine old soul, with his fingerprint on the hearts of others reaching further then we could have ever imagined. We received messages from individuals describing and showing us conversations that he would have with people. A friend of mine recently told me " your son is special, he opened my eyes to see the true value of myself and my work. Because of tony I now own my own business fuled with his influence and inspiration. We have hundreds of stories that touched our lives. My life became encompassed with work so my son became the man of the house helping raise his 2 sisters. Anthony was in every fabric of our lives. This tragic event has had a huge impact on our lives but the 19 years he spent with us not only changed our family but changed the world. " Go get what you want in life" " All existences are created from the mind and heart" " Breath in with a tranquil mind, breath out with a peaceful smile." " Dwell in the present and live in the precious moments" " I vow to be born into the pure lands - to attain buddahood and rescue all beings"
