Anita H. Gonzales age 88 of El Paso TX, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born on October 13, 1933 to Alta Gracia and Jesus Hernandez. Our beloved Mother and Grandmother went home to our Lord.
Anita had four passions in life; her faith, family, cats and her Dallas Cowboys. Her home was always open to anyone that wanted to visit. She was always ready to offer you a meal and a place to sit. She loved to talk and tell stories of growing up with her siblings and their trips to Mexico to visit family.
She was a proud and strong woman standing at only 4"11. She would go on to graduate from El Paso Technical Institute and soon after began her career at The El Paso Electric Co. where she would lead a team of cashiers and ultimately retired as a Supervisor of Data Entry.
Anita was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Edward Gonzales Sr., parents, Jesus H. and Alta Gracia Hernandez, sisters, Maria H. White, Juanita Ahumada, Margarita Gracia, and Gumercinda H. Fleharty, and lifelong Best Friend Margie Esparza.
She is survived by her sons; Edward Gonzales Jr, Robert Gonzales and Wife Jo Marie; Granddaughter Melony G. Sanchez and Husband Ernie Sanchez; Great Grandchildren BrieAnna and Alex Sanchez. Also surviving Anita is her brother and sister in law, Luis and Irene Hernandez along with many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 from 4:00pm-8:00pm with a vigil at 7:00pm at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Avenue. Memorial Mass will be on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 11:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Committal to follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Anita was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her greatest joys were her children and grandchildren. We will miss you immensely.
