Alfred Ochoa Chavez, also known as “Fred” or “Pelon”, age 74, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 23, 2023. He was born on December 8, 1948, in El Paso, Texas to Cipriano and Consuelo Chavez. He was a beloved father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend; and will be greatly missed by all.
Fred is survived by his daughters; Diane “Dini” Wells (Joe), Melissa “Missy” Hernandez (Ruben), and Priscilla “Prissy” Chavez; his brother; Antonio “Tony” Chavez (Irma); his sister-in-law; Amparo Chavez; his grandchildren; Cody, Zachary, Taylor, Logan, Aidan; his great-grandchildren; Blaykley, Mellow, Cecilia; his nieces and nephews; Connie, Ricky, Louie, Nora, Ronnie, Brian, Jacob, Paul; and by many loving cousins and lifelong friends. Also left to cherish his memory is his longtime companion; Irma Barraza; her children; Angel Barraza, Dalila Mercer (Chris); her grandchildren; Junior, Gabriel, Laila, Alex; and by many other loving members of her family in El Paso.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents; Cipriano Chavez and Consuelo Chavez; his aunts; Teresa Ochoa and Socorro Chavez; his cousin; Pedro “Pedrito” Chavez; his brother; Richard Chavez; and his nephew; Adrian Chavez.
A visitation for Fred will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del
Angel Evergreen East, 12400 East Montana, El Paso, TX 79938.
