Timothy 'Tim' Andrew Jones

Timothy Andrew “Tim” Jones, 53, of Smackover, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 26, 2016. Born on December 19, 1962, in Monroe, Louisiana, he was the son of Benita Gonzalez Jones and the late Reverend Nathan William Jones.

Tim is survived by his loving family, his wife Kathey Ward Jones; his children, Derrick Jones and fiancée Cameron Malone, Bradley Jones and wife Tabatha, Rudy Jones, Skylar Wood and husband Daniel; his grandchildren, Jude, Ava Mae, Ruby, Chelsea, and Haylie Jones, and Tripp (Mi-Jo) Wood; mother, Benita Gonzalez Jones; brothers, Jimmy William Jones, Mark Anthony Jones and Julian Jose Jones, Joseph Nathan Jones and wife Billie Faye, David Paul Jones, Gary Lane Jones and wife Dianne; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Raised in Monroe, Louisiana, Tim attended Ward Five Apostolic Church, where his parents served as pastors for many years. Affectionately called Timmy, he had a kind demeanor and was known for having a compassionate heart toward others. He was married to the love of his life, Kathey, for 31 years and they made their home on the hill in Smackover, Arkansas. Very much involved in the lives of his children and community, Tim was a hardworking man who spent his time selflessly providing for and taking care of those around him. He had a great love for music and was a talented multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, often writing songs with a heart that loved to worship. He loved the outdoors, traveling and connecting with family and friends. Tim was a mentor, genuine friend and loved by (almost) everyone he met. His bright smile and his extraordinary character left a lasting impact on those he knew and loved.

Visitation is on Thursday, June 30, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., at Young’s Funeral Home, 508 Champagnolle, El Dorado, AR, 71730.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2016, at Maple Avenue Baptist Church, 1306 Maple Avenue, Smackover, AR, 71762. Interment will follow at Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
