Susie was born on January 28, 1954 in El Dorado, Arkansas. She was the daughter of John 'Dan' Speer and Mary Louise Harrison Speer of El Dorado. She attended El Dorado High School, earned her degree from Southern Arkansas University, and spent her career in accounting at Murphy Oil Corporation. She was a charter member of Parkers Chapel First Baptist Church. Susie was reunited with her parents and her brother John 'Freddy' Speer, who preceded her in death, at the gates of heaven. She had missed them so much.
She was a blessing to her family, and her legacy of love is in her survivors- daughters Kristen Foster of Benton and Lynn Cleveland (David) of Hot Springs; son Jonathan Foster (Mary) of Hot Springs; grandchildren Claire and Allison Cleveland, Hayes and Collin Foster; and nephew Brandon Speer.
Susie was a kind, friendly and outgoing woman who was loved by many. She has maintained many friendships since childhood in El Dorado. She relocated to central Arkansas to be near her children and grandchildren, but El Dorado was always home. She loved God, her family and Coca-Cola Classic. She was infinitely proud of her children, but her grandchildren brought a joy that was something special.
A visitation for Susie will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Young’s Funeral Home in El Dorado , AR, followed by a chapel funeral service at 11:00 AM with Rev. Larry Hudson officiating.
