She was born on January 15, 1946 to Albert Arthur and Agnes Wesson Barton in Hope, AR. Josephine enjoyed gardening and was a homemaker
She was preceded in death by parents, her husband, Thomas Larry Smith; sister, Shirley Kennedy, Lavern Mattison, Mary Jones, Hazel Barton; and brothers, James Barton, Edward Barton, and Floyd Barton.
Survivors include a daughter, Erica Smith of El Dorado; two sons, Paul Smith (Helen) of Summerfield, Larry "Joey" Smith (Melinda) of Urbana; brother, John Barton of Lewisville, AR; grandchildren Ashley Williams (Jeff), Tommy Smith and T.J. Smith (Cammie); and great grandchildren, Emma Jones, T.L. Smith, Adriana Smith, Charlie Higbee, Cole Higbee, Haylee Higbee, Alyssa Williams and Ceth Williams.
Graveside services by Young's Funeral Directors will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 26, 2022, at Canaan Cemetery with Scott Jackson.
