He was the owner and operator of John Ingram, Inc. and was of the Methodist faith.
An astute businessman, John was originally a welder/pipefitter by trade and a member of Local 706. He was also an avid scuba diver, often traveling to scuba dive in different locations. Over the years, he worked with and employed many local welders who also called him friend. John was a serious man who was also quick to laugh and joke. Many people called him “dad”.
Preceding him in death are his parents; wife, Jane Ingram; son, Jay Ingram; and sister, Connie Drummond.
Survivors include his three sons, Michael Ingram (Vicky), Patrick Ingram, Tracy Ingram (Mary); brother, Tim Ingram (Lou) all of El Dorado; and four grandchildren, Taylor Ingram, Elijah Ingram, Leila Ingram, and John Luke Ingram.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Young’s Chapel with Dr. James “Sonny” Griffing officiating, with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Parkers Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
