Born September 7, 1930 in Dallas, Texas, he was the son of Andrew Franklin Rapp and Mary Myrtle Blanchard Rapp. Mr. Rapp had retired as Assistant Chief of the El Dorado Fire Department after serving 25 years and later retired after 13 plus years with Amercable. Mr. Rapp was proud to have served in the U.S. Army for two years.
Mr. Rapp was a longtime member of West Side Baptist Church where he cherished his time with the Golden Agers and other church members. Mr. Rapp enjoyed pastimes of fishing, hunting, cooking out and spending time with his family.
Preceding him in death along with his parents was a brother, Harry Paul Rapp.
Survivors include his wife, Esther Mae Rapp of El Dorado, two daughters, Estelieta Ann Harrison (Michael) of Inverness, Florida and Jayme Darlene Walton (Ron) of El Dorado; two sons, James Drew Rapp, Jr. (Crystal Lynn) of El Dorado and Richard Corker (Bobbie) of Oklahoma City, OK. Surviving grandchildren are Christopher Darden of Arkadelphia, Brandi McDermott (Wes) of Humphrey, AR, Samantha Tyous (D.J.) of Sherwood, AR, James Eric Rapp (Lorrie) of El Dorado, Kyle Thomas Rapp (Melanie) of El Dorado, Ryan Walton (Rachel) of Caledonia, MS, Christopher Dodd (Melissa) of Centerton, AR, Matthew Dodd of Oklahoma City along with great-grandchildren, Jaelyn Maddox, Jonesboro, AR, Jenna Maddox, Jacob Maddox, Ava Dru McDermott, and John McDermott all of Humphrey, AR, Keygan Tyous and Kenzli Tyous both of Sherwood, AR, Mia Rapp, Liam Rapp, and Drew Marcus Rapp all of El Dorado, Ryland and Rance Walton of Caledonia, MS, McCale and Remington Dodd of Centerton, AR. Also surviving are three nieces, Marie James (Daryl) of Orange, Texas, Vickey Ward (Robert) and Teresa Ward (Steve) both of El Dorado along with a nephew, Rickey Rapp (Beverly) of El Dorado. Other survivors include a sister-in-law of the heart, Zale Dukemasov of El Dorado and numerous other nieces and nephews who were greatly loved.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 18, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at West Side Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Perry and Rev. Cody Lain officiating. Interment will follow in Old Union Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service at West Side Baptist Church on Monday.
