home following a lengthy illness.
Born December 2, 1958 in Houma, Louisiana, he was the thirteenth child of Guy and Genevieve Draime
Stevens. He earned a B.S. in Education from the University of Arkansas-Monticello in 1991. He spent his
life in service to others as a beloved chemistry and physics teacher at Hampton High School in Hampton,
AR for 30 years.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Guy (Buddy) Stevens, James Stevens, Michael
Stevens, Joseph Stevens, and Harry Stevens, and sisters Dianne Pitre, Norma Gautreaux, and his twin
sister, Janice Rice DuPre’.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Stevens of Hampton, his daughter Allison Stevens (Shane Gosselink) of
Hampton, and his son, Charlie Stevens (Danielle Dupre) of Houma, LA. He is also survived by his three
grandchildren, Violette Gosselink, Lillian Stevens, and Erik (Leo) Gosselink, who were the greatest joy of
his life.
Also surviving are his brothers Thomas Stevens, John David Stevens, and Brian (Chris) Stevens all of
Houma, LA and sisters Jacquelyn Regner of Anniston, AL, Linda Ward of Madisonville, LA, and Mary
Cradeur of Houma, LA, along with a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Cremation services are entrusted to Young’s Funeral Directors. The G-40 University Book Scholarship
Fund has been created and will provide an annual scholarship for one or more students graduating from
Hampton High School intending to study science or education. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to
request contributions be made to the scholarship fund. These can be sent to: G-40 University
