Dot graduated from EHS and attended Hendrix and the University of Arkansas. Upon her return to El Dorado, she worked at Murphy Oil and the El Dorado House, where she did artwork in the advertising department. She was also a long-time realtor in business with her husband, Bill.
Dot, who was an avid artist, entered one of her works in the national DAR competition and won overall best of show in the fine arts division.The painting was displayed in the DAR building in Washington for two, two-month periods.
Dot was a member of First United Methodist Church, El Dorado Service League and the Robert Rosamond Chapter of the DAR, where she served as both Vice Regent and Regent.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband of 69 years, Bill.
She is survived by three daughters, Lynn Rambo, Fran Caruthers and Nina Gaspard; grandchildren Joby Rambo and wife Jamie; Amy Rosegrant, Craig Rambo, Courtney Rambo and wife Angie; Trey Caruthers and wife Kim; Katie Caruthers, Chip Gaspard and Anna Gaspard, and eight great-grandchildren.
A service will be held 2pm, Saturday at the Arlington Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Bill Odom officiating. There will not be a visitation.
Memorials may be made to the Bill and Dorothy Craig Scholarship at Southern Arkansas University, UCAPS or the charity of the donor’s choice.
