On Friday, April 28, 2023, Charlotte Ann Hanson Zeek went to be with her Heavenly Father. Born in El Dorado, Arkansas on November 2, 1936, to Philip and Della Hanson, she spent most of her early years in Shreveport before moving to Smackover in 1954. She graduated from Smackover High School in 1955 and, in 1959, married Jack Zeek following a chance meeting at the movie theater where she worked.
Charlotte spent most of her life as a devoted housewife and mother with exception to the years she worked at the ElDo-Craft boat company. She loved fishing, baseball, butterflies and flowers, and possessed an intense interest for golf, though she never once played the game. She was such a strong woman, a role she never recognized as having played. Above all, she loved her family, both immediate and extended, to include her First Baptist church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years; son, Terrell; brother Robert Hanson and sister-in-law Betty. She is survived by sons Evin (Mary) of Camden, AR and Joel of San Luis, CO; granddaughters Melissa (Stuart) Porter and Michelle (Van) Lofton of Smackover, AR and Alicia (Steve) Roberts of Robbinsville, NC; great-grandchildren Sivana, Vanessa, Devan, Haevan, Emily, and D.J. She is also survived by her brother Gary (Beth) Hanson of Shreveport, LA and sister Phyllis (Wayne) Miller of Parkers Chapel, AR as well as a host of nieces and nephews, and her best friend and pet, Gracie.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of Smackover with Rev. Carley Davis officiating. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Young's Funeral Directors.
Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his faithful servants.
