Born November 2, 1917, in Spearsville, Louisiana, she was the daughter of Charlie Martin Yossett and Molly Martin Yossett. She worked as a registered nurse at Warner Brown Hospital and Junction City Nursing Home. She was a charter member of Temple Baptist Church, Nick Springs Road, El Dorado, and a member of Mt. Union Golden Agers.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Tommy Rhodes; one son, Ben Colvin Rhodes; sisters, Maxine Day, Madie Hillman, Izora Johnson, Sally Yossett, Etta Brown, Dolly Harris, Clara Ward; brothers, Jack Yossett, John Yossett, Rufus Yossett, and Marshall McAdams.
Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Saulsbury and her husband Pete of Smackover, Arkansas; sons, Charles Rhodes and his wife Jimmie of El Dorado, John Rhodes and his wife, Cathy of Clinton, Arkansas, Bobby Jack Rhodes of Mt. View, Arkansas, Michael Rhodes and his wife, Brenda of Farmerville, Louisiana, Don Rhodes and his wife, Barbara of Sarepta, Louisiana, Pat Rhodes and his wife Desha of New Orleans, Louisiana; sister, Mary Dean Scarborugh of Monroe, Louisiana; grandchildren, Chuck Saulsbury of El Dorado, Jason Saulsbury of Smackover, Lari Eakin of Smackover, Chuck Rhodes of Junction City, Arkansas, Clint Rhodes of El Dorado, Darla Rhodes of Crossett, Arkansas, Alicia Frey of Decatuer, Georgia, Michael Rhodes of El Dorado, LaTonya Ferguson of El Dorado, Hannah Rhodes of Clinton, Arkansas, Beegie Rhodes of El Dorado, Lynn Tadel of El Dorado, Tommy Rhodes of Monroe, Louisiana, Helen Knighten of Monroe, Louisiana, Ricky Rhodes of Sarepta, Louisiana, Robin Wells of Springhill, Louisiana, Henry Rhodes and Aaron Labadie both of New Orleans, Louisiana; 39 great grandchildren; and 7 great, great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Liberty Baptist Church, Spearsville, Louisiana, with Dewey Rhodes officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
Visitation will be from 6-8pm, Friday, May 25, 2012, at the funeral home.
