Nancy Ann Funick

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents Edna T. and Joseph I. Mack, her loving husband of 46 years Alfred L. Funick, infant daughter Miriam, and her brother Donald R. Mack.

Nancy was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 10, 1929. She attended Jones Commercial High School and studied secretarial skills. She and Alfred were married in 1948. They became the parents of six daughters-Linda Conklin (William), Joyce Comstock (Alan), Beverly Gorman (Mark), Margaret Waters (Scott), Patricia Geske, and have seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Nancy and Alfred raised their family in the Chicago area. In Illinois, Nancy was employed as a secretary, factory worker, cabinet builder and hospital cook. Nancy and Al retired in 1983 and moved to Lakeside, CA. Nancy taught herself to be a skilled seamstress and tackled projects big and small. She created many beautiful dresses. Her loves were first- her family, her friends, her church and her Padres.

Nancy was a member of Carlton Hills Lutheran Church in Santee, CA. A celebration of life service will be held at the church on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 11:00am. Committal will be at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 10:30. Memorial donations may be made in Nancy’s name to the Carlton Hills Lutheran Church general fund at 9735 Halberns Blvd. Santee, CA 92071.
